Software development is changing fast, and here at GitKraken, we’re excited to be at the forefront. We’re entering a new era—one where AI is helping developers rather than trying to replace them. Our goal is to put that power to work for developers—embedded in your workflows, on your terms.
We’ve been listening closely to feedback from our community—developers, team leads, engineering managers, and our enterprise customers. You’ve told us clearly: you want AI to reduce your daily grind, not add complexity. You want smoother collaboration, more predictable workflows, and stronger security and governance.
With all this in mind, we’re introducing significant updates starting March 29, 2025, including new plan tiers and the launch of GitKraken AI (in preview), our new built-in AI-powered capability. Every paid GitKraken plan now includes weekly GitKraken AI token allowances per user, with higher tiers unlocking more usage.
Why We’re Making These Changes
Here’s what we’ve learned from our community:
- AI should enhance your workflow, not disrupt it.
- GitKraken AI is designed to fit naturally into your current processes—think smarter commit messages, less tedious PRs, and helpful automation.
- Teams need visibility and speed.
- You asked for workflows that just make sense, with better visibility and fewer bottlenecks. Our new plans are built to deliver exactly that.
- Secure and transparent AI use matters.
- Whether you’re a growing startup or a large enterprise, AI introduces new challenges. We’ve built tools into GitKraken that help you manage AI responsibly, securely, and transparently—complete with usage controls and enforceable policies in higher tiers.
What’s Changing?
We’re updating our plans to align closely with how developers and teams actually work—and to provide scalable access to GitKraken AI. Here’s a quick overview:
