I wanted you to hear directly from me that I’ve joined GitKraken as CEO. I’m honored to succeed Matt Johnston, who has led the company through five years of significant growth and scale.

I chose to join GitKraken because the entire company is focused on a problem that matters deeply to software teams right now.

AI has already changed how code gets written. Developers are working across multiple agents, models and repositories, often at the same time. The challenge now is turning that new capacity into better software and better business outcomes without losing context, quality or control.

That’s where GitKraken is focused.

GitKraken Insights helps engineering leaders understand and articulate the value AI is delivering to their teams and the business. Kepler, our agentic development environment (ADE), lets developers run multiple coding agents in parallel across repositories while choosing the agents and models that work best for them.

That freedom matters.

As AI vendors build increasingly closed ecosystems around their own models and agents, we’re taking a different path. We believe the freedom to choose belongs with developers and their leaders. Our job is to help that work flow together and give leaders a clear view of the results.

That philosophy is a big part of why I joined GitKraken.

Earlier in my career, working in a BMW-owned automotive environment taught me to look at the entire system through which work moves, rather than optimizing one step in isolation. I carried that thinking into software and through 15 years at Acquia across customer, commercial, product and technology leadership.

Most importantly, GitKraken’s commitment to developers isn’t changing. What is changing is the complexity you and your teams have to manage.
